Marilyn Blank, CPA MST CFP®

Founder & Managing Principal

Marilyn has been practicing as a certified public accountant since 1986. M. Blank & Company was established in 1993 after having spent 7 years with Deloitte and Touche in Los Angeles and Orange County. Marilyn received her bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Southern California in 1986. In 1998, she was awarded a Masters degree in Taxation from Golden Gate University. Marilyn attended the financial planning program through University of California - Irvine, and in 2002 earned her designation as a Certified Financial Planner.

Prior to her career in public accounting, Marilyn was in the banking industry for 10 years. She lives in Lake Forest with her husband, Robert. When not working she enjoys spending time in San Diego with her adult children.

Andrea Scarbrough, CPA MBT

Tax Principal

Andrea has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, beginning in 1997. She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from California State University, Fullerton (2000), and a master’s in business taxation from the University of Southern California (2004). Andrea’s career includes nine years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP, where she worked with family-run private enterprises in various sectors. Since 2009, she has been with M. Blank & Company, specializing in multi-state tax and consulting for entities and individuals, particularly in the private equity sector. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Andrea is married with four children and enjoys spending time with her family, participating in school events and kids’ sports. She is active in her community, volunteering as a Girl Scout troop leader and managing a used uniform program at her children's school.

Pauline Tomaiko, CPA

Senior Manager - Tax & Accounting

Pauline joined M. Blank & Company in 2010. She earned her bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University, Fullerton in 2011 and pursued her CPA certification shortly after that. She handles accounting projects and tax returns for all types of entities and individuals and helps clients navigate the complexities of accounting and taxation. Her goal is to always provide great service and to build and maintain long-lasting client relationships. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new places, being outdoors, and camping with her husband and two children.

Kris Gage, EA

Enrolled Agent - Bookkeeper 

Kris has been with us for over 25 years serving a very important function of high level bookkeeping and business management services. She assists during tax season with individual and businesses tax returns. Her previous career consisted of many years of management in the healthcare field including Americair, Inc, a home heathcare provider. She has her credentials as an Enrolled Agent (licensed to practice before the IRS). When not working she enjoys her time off with her husband at her family home in Catalina.

Jason Tu, CPA MBT

Tax Manager

Jason started working as a staff accountant at M. Blank & Company in October 2016. He graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2015 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting and Finance. During his free time, he enjoys playing guitar, singing, and skateboarding.

Chantel Salas

Supervisor

Chantel has worked in public accounting since 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University, Fullerton. She began her career shortly after graduating at M. Blank & Company, where she is a client manager supervising tax preparation for individuals, businesses, and nonprofits. In addition, she consults with small business owners and manages accounting projects. Chantel values the continuous learning and client relationships inherent in public accounting. She is currently studying for her CPA license.

Outside of her professional role, Chantel volunteers as a Finance Advisor for the Alpha Delta Pi Cal State Fullerton chapter, sitting on the Executive Board, overseeing the chapter budget and spending, and assisting with chapter operations. Before this role, she volunteered on the ADPi CSUF House Corporation Board for six years. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, and snowboarding.

Geri Ferger, EA

Enrolled Agent - Tax Manager

Geri earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Northeaster Illinois University in Chicago.

Her career includes three years of audit at KPMG in Chicago, followed by several years in private industry financial reporting. In addition to preparing tax returns, she handles our clients IRS and State tax authority issues. Geri receives intense satisfaction from being able to assist clients with their IRS issues.

When she is not at M. Blank, you will find her at the gym or doing advocacy work for the special needs community. She lives in Lake Forest with her husband, son and Bichon Elsa.

Michael graduated from California State University Fullerton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He started working at M Blank & Company in 2021. During his free time, he enjoys going to gym, traveling, and trying new foods

Michele has been working as an administrative professional in the tax industry for many years. She worked for a few local CPA firms before starting with M. Blank & Company in 2019. Michele enjoys the public accounting environment and challenges that come with her position. During her free time, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Jordan joined M. Blank & Company in 2024. He graduated from California State University Fullerton in 2024 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting. He handles the preparation of tax returns for individuals and various types of business entities. Outside of work, you will find him in the mountains snowboarding, working out in the gym, or on a lake wakeboarding.
